A mission to learn -- that's the advantage of Shuttle Camp®, inspiring young people to transform imagination into reality and providing students the opportunity to experience "hands-on" aspects of living and working in space.

Shuttle Camp® is held at the New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo, NM. Students test high-adventure fun, teamed with hands-on experiences of living and working in space. Sessions are conducted throughout the New Mexico Museum of Space History's complex.

Tuition includes: T-shirt, field trips and other fees associated with the New Mexico Museum of Space History. Program costs range from $85 for half-day programs to $495 for overnight sessions. Please check the registration form carefully for proper program tuition. Overnight sessions also include housing (five nights), 24-hour supervision, special evening activities and meals. Camp sessions last one week.

Shuttle Camp® is an entity of the New Mexico Museum of Space History, a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs for the State of New Mexico, and the International Space Hall of Fame Foundation. The camp was established in 1986 as a program for local school children, and has grown to host students from throughout the United States, Canada, South America, New Zealand and Europe.

Shuttle Camp® is primarily self-supporting. The camp is operated through the International Space Hall of Fame Foundation, a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit corporation.

Technical assistance and other educational support for the program is provided by the Alamogordo Astronomy Club; Apache Point Observatory (near Sunspot, New Mexico); Holloman Air Force Base: Det 4, Air Force Space Forecast Center, Solar Observatory, 46th Test Group High Speed Test Track, Physiological Training Center, Public Affairs Office; NASA, Johnson Space Center's White Sands Test Facility; National Solar Observatory, Sunspot, NM; New Mexico Tech; White Sands Missile Range, White Sands National Monument, the City of Alamogordo Recreation Center and the New Mexico School for the Visually Handicapped.
