NEW MEXICO SPACE ACADEMY SUMMER SCIENCE CAMPS!



Fun! Adventure! Friends! That's what New Mexico Space Academy summer science camps are all about! Our goal is to provide a safe and fun environment for your aspiring young scientist to learn and laugh with new friends from all over the world. Each camp offers a unique opportunity for hands-on learning, teamwork and imagination.

NM Space Academy summer science camps are held at the New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo, NM. Sessions are conducted throughout the Museum complex and at various local field trip sites (field trips are designated for certain age levels only).

Tuition includes: Polo shirt, cap, field trips and other fees associated with the New Mexico Museum of Space History. Program costs range from $150 for full day programs to $475 for overnight sessions. Please check the registration form carefully for proper program tuition. Overnight sessions also include housing (five nights), 24-hour supervision, special evening activities and meals. Camp sessions last one week.

New Mexico Space Academy is an entity of the New Mexico Museum of Space History, a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs for the State of New Mexico, and the International Space Hall of Fame Foundation. The camp was established in 1986 as a program for local school children, and has grown to host students from throughout the United States, Canada, South America, New Zealand and Europe.

New Mexico Space Academy is primarily self-supporting. The camp is operated through the International Space Hall of Fame Foundation, a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit corporation.

Technical assistance and other educational support for the program is provided by the Alamogordo Astronomy Club; Apache Point Observatory (near Sunspot, New Mexico); Holloman Air Force Base: Det 4, Air Force Space Forecast Center, Solar Observatory, 46th Test Group High Speed Test Track, Physiological Training Center, Public Affairs Office; NASA, Johnson Space Center's White Sands Test Facility; National Solar Observatory, Sunspot, NM; New Mexico Tech; White Sands Missile Range, White Sands National Monument, and the City of Alamogordo Recreation Center.
